Pug-Day Afternoon

Mum tried to sleep in this morning. She kept mumbling something about Daylight Savings. I don’t know any thing about Daylight Savings, but I do know when my belly says it’s meal-time and meal-time is always more important than sleep.

After breakfast, I had a nice nap.

This afternoon we went to a pug party. It’s like going to the dog park, but indoors and with no big dogs. I love pug parties. They used to overwhelm me. Back when I was newly rescued, I was scared to be around that many dogs, but now I look forward to seeing all my friends.

Speaking of friends, Bogey came to the pug party today. She’s not a pug, she’s a boston terrier, but I like her anyway. Bogey lived with me when I was newly rescued. Mum fostered her for a long time, but Bogey kept eating something in the yard that made her tummy upset and mum had to ask for someone else to foster her.

Bogey

Here’s a picture of Bogey from this past summer. Sometimes I wonder if she thinks she is a pug; she does the pug head-tilt. That’s why her ears are out of focus, she was tilting her head when this picture was being taken.

Bogey doesn’t like to play with other dogs, I don’t think she even likes living with other dogs, but I miss her just the same.
Bogey’s been in foster care since last Christmas. That’s a very long time to wait for someone to promise to love you forever. Your time will come soon Bogey, I know there has to be someone out there for you.

On the way home from the pug party mum took me to Pet Value for doggy treats. Mum has decided I need to brush up on my obedience training and should learn some new tricks. I don’t completely agree with her, I’d much rather lay in mum’s lap, watch TV and look cute. Looking cute is what I do best.

Looking cute is hard work.

Contrary to popular belief, not all pugs are driven by their tummies. Just because a tasty treat is being offered, doesn’t mean I’m going to jump through hoops, or lay down on command to get some. I am my own pug and I’ll decide when I’m going to listen and when I’m going to go play with my toys. And no treat will convince me otherwise.

Mum found these freeze-dried liver treats at Pet Value. They were so good, I’d jump through all the hoops on the moon for just one little piece. Even Shinobi liked them, and Shinobi doesn’t like dog treats. I guess I’ll be working on my obedience.

About Sabrina's Pug Tails

My name is Sabrina. I am a three year old fawn pug who lives with my three humans and my brother-cat Shinobi. I came to live with my family in February of 2010. I don’t remember much about my life before that. I know that I didn’t have a nice warm bed to sleep in or soft couches to lay on. I was rescued from my previous life by the Boston Terrier & Pug Rescue of Southern Manitoba along with my brother, sister and mom. My human mum tells me that some dogs work at being smart and some work at being cute, and I am very, very cute. I think there may be some kind of insult here………
