Poppy’s big day

Hello! It’s Poppy here.

There’s some strange things going on here and I wanted to tell you all about it.

I had dinner as usual last night. And as usual, I managed to steal some of Sabrina’s food too.Shortly after dinner, my water bowl was taken away.

I like water. Drinking makes me happy. It’s like food, but wetter – and I usually get access to it all the time. Usually.

When breakfast alarm went off this morning, Sabrina and I got up with The Will.

But there was no breakfast! No food! No water! NOTHING! I had to resort to chewing on pant legs  to ease my growling belly.

So now mum says I get to go for a car ride with her, but Sabrina has to stay home. I like car rides, they usually end up at the dog park. But I’ve never gone to the dog park without Sabrina.

Hey mum, can we grab some grub on the way? I’d settle for some grass……

Mum’s note: Poppy will be six months old on Sunday. Today she will be going to the vet for her spay and nostril widening surgery. She will also have both (yes, she has two) of her hernias fixed. Her belly button hernia is so big, she’s often mistaken for  boy. I can’t express to you how glad I will be to finally have the hernias fixed so I no longer have to worry about them getting worse and potentially harming her.

Please keep Poppy in your thought today. Although she is in the best hands possible with Dr. Sra and his team, she’s just a little dog and I do worry.

There is someone else who needs your juju today. Payton crossed the rainbow bridge last night. She was surrounded by her family and by love. My heart breaks in a million pieces for her loving family who need your love and support to get through their devastating loss.

Payton was the sweetest pug out there and truly didn’t deserve the many curve balls that have been thrown her way. And her parents…….. well, let’s just say, if I were to die tomorrow and come back as a dog, there is nobody I’d rather live with than Payton’s family.

About Sabrina's Pug Tails

My name is Sabrina. I am a three year old fawn pug who lives with my three humans and my brother-cat Shinobi. I came to live with my family in February of 2010. I don’t remember much about my life before that. I know that I didn’t have a nice warm bed to sleep in or soft couches to lay on. I was rescued from my previous life by the Boston Terrier & Pug Rescue of Southern Manitoba along with my brother, sister and mom. My human mum tells me that some dogs work at being smart and some work at being cute, and I am very, very cute. I think there may be some kind of insult here………

Best of luck, Poppy and Payton. I believe the Lord will look after both of you. You will feel better once the operation has been over and done, Poppy. Thinking of you. Alfie

I just read about Payton and my heart goes out to her owner’s. My sympathy on the loss of such a wonderful dog. May the Lord look down on you and help you heal from this tremendous loss. Joan & Alfie

  2. The vet’s office just called to say that Poppy is just waking up from her surgery now. On top of everything else they planned to do, she also had her soft pallet shortened and a stray baby tooth removed.
Poppy is going to spend the weekend feeling more than a little sorry for herself. Thankfully The Will has made plans to stay home to be with her.
Mum made plans to be out all weekend and won’t even be taking me with her. Hmph!

I’m glad that Poppy is doing well after her surgery. She’s a little sweetie and will be her sassy little self before you know it! I’m glad The Will is going to be home with her so YOU can take care of yourself and get well!!

I think Poppy had a little guardian angel with her today by the name of Payton. I am glad that Poppy’s surgeries went well.
I am so so so sad about Payton. I am in total agreement that there can be no better Pugrents than Christy and Tim.

OMP when the water bowl disappears that only means something big is going to happen. I totally know what you were experiencing on Friday. I hopes that everything went well. We just haven’t been on the blog cause we have been to upset about Payton. Even tonight is hard to read all the posts for Payton.

Well, it happened, I have a new baby Chin Brother. He is living in Quebec now with his Mommy and his Breeder. His Mommy had two boys, one is black & white and the other is sable. They were just born yesterday and they are like little field mice. Sandra, the Breeder, is going to snap a picture on facebook for us but I know my job will be teaching him the routine. We have been waiting for a new brother for over a year and Mommy is “over the moon.” You know what humans are like. Have a great Easter weekend with Poppy and your humans. Alfie
